Marcona Inlet (Macona Inlet)

General information
Marcona Inlet, also known as Macona Inlet is a sister bay to Nara Inlet on the South western side of Hook Island. It provides protection in most conditions although it's not snug at all as the wind strengthens from the south.
Anchorage is possible almost anywhere inside Marcona Inlet, bearing in mind the fringing reefs that follow the shore line. The reef extends at varying distnces throughout the bay so check your charts as you proceed. The water here is usually murky like Nara Inlet and so unless the tide is low, the reef will be difficult to see.

The snuggest anchorage is found in the large bay on the eastern shore half way into Marcona Inlet. There is quite a bit of reef here and not a lot of space to manouvre, so check your chart before entering.
