Mantaray Bay - Whitsundays, is located at the northern most tip of Hook Island and is in a 'No Fishing one'. The end result is that this section of Hook Island has spectacular corals and fish life. Visibility is often exceptional and it's a very popular snorkel site and occasional dive site for those that make the effort. Highly recommended !

Mantaray Bay is virtually a no anchoring zone. As you must anchor outside the reef marker bouys, you'll find yourself in water far too deep to anchor. (Well over 25m). So it's a public mooring. There are two moorings here at the time of writing for yacht sized craft, but they are very popular and hard to obtain. Basically, visit here for an hour or two to snorkel and dive, and then move on. It's way too rolly here to spend a comfortable night anyway. (Even in the calmest conditions).
